According to reports in Spain, out-of-favour Chelsea striker Diego Costa is moving closer to signing for Atletico Madrid.

Costa is currently one of the top level strikers in the whole of the Premier League but last month he made a shocking revelation that his Italian boss did not want him at Stamford Bridge next season. The Spaniard revealed that he had gotten a message from Antonio Conte telling him to find a new club.

Ever since that day, the relationship between Costa and his manager has been on a steady decline. As Chelsea began training for the new season, Diego Costa was not present with his teammates as he was given an extended break by the Chelsea boss.

Recently the relationship between the two hit a real low point after the Spanish international decided to take a dig on Antonio Conte on social media. He posted a video on Instagram where he was seen wearing an Atletico Madrid shirt – a clear sign that he had no intentions of returning to London.

And Diego Costa has always made it clear that he wishes to return back to his old club as he still has a lot of respect as well as love for both Atleti and Diego Simeone.

And now it looks as if Antonio Conte has finally given the go-ahead with the deal as Diego Costa slowly makes his way back to Spain. But Atletico Madrid are in no hurry to sign the player due to the current transfer embargo on them. While Spanish outfit can buy players during the ban but those players can only be registered once the embargo is lifted in January next year.
