Liverpool have been long wanting to sign Naby Keita from Rb Leipzig but it looks as if the deal is in some troubled waters.

To put it very simply a lot of mixed reports are coming in from Germany.

The Guinea International was one of the best players for Leipzig in the past season. And he was instrumental in securing a Champions League spot for the German club. But in the past few weeks reports had claimed that the 22-year-old has told the club about his desire to join Liverpool in the Premier League.

But it looks as if the RB Leipzig board is divided on the opinion whether to let the player leave or not. According to the Liverpool Echo, Leipzig Chairman Oliver Mitzlaff has supposedly told the player that he will be allowed to leave. But the club’s sporting director has made it very clear that the player will not be sold.

Jurgen Klopp is a long term admirer of the midfielder and was willing to pay somewhere in the region of £50 million for the 22-year-old. But Leipzig’s sporting director is adamant on the point that none of his players will be sold.

He has gone on record stating that there is no exit clause and not even £100 million will persuade them to sell their stars.

Liverpool were reportedly planning a revised bid of £75 million for the player. But now with these comments, the deal will definitely be not as simple as it had looked earlier.
