Liverpool picked up a 5-2 win against Everton on Wednesday and this was more satisfactory to watch since Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah were both rested.

In place of these players, Klopp chose to start with Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri both of whom have seen very little game time and this was one major cause of concern for all the Liverpool fans.

There were fears that Everton might not be troubled during the match since both Firmino and Salah have been key players for Liverpool this season but to everyone’s surprise both Origi and Shaqiri managed to put their names on the scoresheet.

And speaking after the match, Jurgen Klopp explained how the depth of the squad has been a real asset for him during the ongoing campaign.

“There were a lot of great football moments in that game,” Klopp said[as reported by Sky Sports].

“We made five changes. I speak a lot about the quality in the squad, so I have to show it from time to time.

“You give the responsibility to the boys and they have to show that they can perform and what they’re made of, which is incredible.

“Divock’s goal, Sadio’s passes, Shaq’s everything, Adam Lallana everywhere and he had so many really really good moments. Just so many good football moments. But, of course, from time to time a bit rusty in defending because they were really direct.

“It was all good until 4-1, but the 4-2 I didn’t like so much. But we have to learn and have to improve and that’s what we will do.

“They are fantastic footballers. I said before the season that there is no one in the squad who is not an outstanding footballer.”

Both Origi and Shaqiri have laid their claim on the first XI after the Merseyside Derby and we believe these two will see a fair amount of game time as Liverpool enters the busy winter period.

Games will be coming thick and fast and obviously the Premier League will be the main focus for Jurgen Klopp meaning the likes of Shaqiri, Origi and Naby Keita can start in the cup games.
