Chelsea had signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window of 2018 but the American only moved to England in the summer.

This meant that despite the transfer embargo, the arrival of the youngster was nothing short of a new signing for the Blues.

And while many people had high hopes of the 21-year-old, he has certainly taken his own sweet time to settle down at the club.

Initially, the player found it really difficult to break into the first XI under Frank Lampard but then when he did start finding his feet, he picked up a groin injury.

Christian Pulisic has not played for Chelsea since New Year’s Day and Frank Lampard had some further bad news regarding the winger.

‘We tried to get him out there last week, step it up a little bit, but we had to pull out of that,’ he told the club’s official website.

‘The break might have come at a good time, it buys us a couple of weeks.

‘Of course, you miss him. He’s a quality player and he was having a really good patch pre-Christmas. Others have to stand up too, but of course, we’ll be happy when he’s back.’

It is still unclear as to how long Christian Pulisic will be out but some people feel the winter break should be enough for him to return back to the full fitness.

But if somehow he takes even more time then it would be a really big problem for Chelsea since they have a flurry of top-notch games scheduled right after the break.

The Blues take on the likes of Manchester United, Spurs and Bayern Munich right after they return back from their mini holiday and without the services of Pulisic picking up wins against each one of these sides will really be an uphill task.
