Manchester United have made a dream start under their caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer beating Cardiff City 5-1.
This is the first time that United have scored five goals since Sir Alex Ferguson’s farewell match five and a half years ago and this was also the first time in months that the players actually looked like a happy bunch.
Ole promised that the players would be playing with purpose and enjoying football a lot more and that was exactly what Pogba and co did during the 90 minutes at the Cardiff City Stadium.
And it is not only Solskjaer who has returned back to his former club as he has brought back a few others as well.
Mike Phelan has also returned back to support his former club and now it seems one more person might just be on his way back to Old Trafford.
We are talking about Solskjaer’s former teammate Peter Schmeichel who has shown his interest at returning back to Man United as the club’s first director of football.
Talking to BBC Radio(as reported), Schmeichel revealed as to why he was seriously considering at returning back to his former club.
‘I’m actually thinking about putting my name in there,’ the former keeper said.
‘What’s really important is to get the Manchester United culture back and the identity back.
‘I’m considering: “Do I have the qualities?” And if I come up to an answer to that question, then I will put my name in the hat.
‘I’ll have a good think about this over Christmas and New Year and make a decision about it.’
By bringing in Ole Solskjaer as the caretaker manager, Ed Woodard has gotten himself a fair bit of time to appoint the new manager for the club and most people believe that current Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will be the man for the job.
