West Ham United started the Premier League season with four straight defeats which meant they were sitting at the bottom of the league table.

But the past two weeks have brought some good news for the Hammers fans as their team has managed to pick up a win and a draw in both of their previous two games.

The Hammers won their first game of the season beating Everton away from home and then managed to hold Chelsea to a goalless draw at the London Stadium this weekend.

With the improved performances of Manuel Pellegrini’s side, even the pundits are starting to change their opinions about the West Ham players.

And on top of that list will surely be Premier League great Alan Shearer who a couple of weeks ago had bashed Pellegrini’s men by saying:

“You would think, coming into this game on the back of three defeats, at home, in front of your fans, you’d think a bit of fight, roll your sleeves up, show the fans you mean business, whatever you want to say, whether it was embarrassing, hopeless, pathetic – use any of those words, you can pick any of them, and that would describe West Ham’s performance.”

But his same man took a complete U-turn after West Ham’s draw vs Chelsea.

Alan Shearer named his team of the week after Matchday 6 and surprisingly it had three West Ham players who played against Chelsea – Pablo Zabaleta, Declan Rice and Issa Diop.

But a number of West Ham fans are still not happy with Alan Shearer’s team selection as the pundit chose David De Gea in front of goal.

Many West Ham, as well as neutral fans, feel that the goalkeeping position should have either been occupied by Fabianski or Petr Cech and not De Gea.
