Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has been tipped for greatness by a number of pundits and last season, Unai Emery showed a lot of faith on the 23-year-old.

But the forward has admitted that if the Gunners do manage to bring in Wilfried Zaha this summer then he could be forced to leave the club for greener pastures.

Alex Iwobi has come up through the ranks at Arsenal and last season he did feature in 35 Premier League games for the club. But surely if Zaha comes to the club, the Nigerian will fall down the pecking order – something which he is not ready to accept.

He has made it clear that he is up for a fight but could consider leaving the club if he does not get enough playing time.

Iwobi told The Sun: “I am not one to chicken out. I have had it all over the years, being told I’m not good enough.

“So whenever the chance comes I always try and prove I should be starting. But it’s going to be difficult if Zaha comes. He will add more stress.

“I am up for the fight but the only time I would consider leaving is if I am not playing as much as I would like to.

“Obviously, my joy is to play football and not just sit out.

“If it comes to that I would have no choice but to leave. But I would always put up a fight to play — that is what I have done all my life.

“We have big stars already, so by adding another one I’ll just have to prove I can do better than them.”

Unai Emery has obviously made Wilfried Zaha his top transfer priority this summer and the player himself claimed recently that he wished to move out.

But obviously, Crystal Palace are holding out for a substantial transfer fee which is out of reach for the Gunners this transfer window.

Some reports claim that Palace will eventually cave in to the player’s demands of leaving and end up selling Zaha to Arsenal, in which case, Alex Iwobi could head out of the door.
