Benjamin Mendy France and Man City

The international break is upon us and it seems that the French national team is not a very place to be in right now.

Deschamp received his first big blow yesterday when Paul Pogba did not play in the Manchester Derby due to an injury which meant the midfielder would also miss France’s games vs Holland and Uruguay.

And on Monday, another Man United player – Anthony Martial was sent back home from the national team training camp due to an injury.

Reports suggested that Anthony Martial had an abductor injury due to which he too will miss the international break.

And if these injuries were not enough, Man City full-back Benjamin Mendy has left the France squad after being diagnosed with a knee injury.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette was called up by Deschamps on Monday as a replacement to the injured Anthony Martial and many Gunners fans were quite happy with the news.

But later on Monday, the French Football Federation has confirmed that Lacazette too will not be joining the Les Blues.

While the FFF have not stated the exact reason as to why Alexandre Lacazette will not be joining the rest of the squad but some rumours claim that he too is injured.

The French have confirmed that they have called up Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Alassane Plea.

Apart from Paul Pogba, all the other three players who had been injured were in action on Sunday.

Benjamin Mendy and Anthony Martial were part of the high profile Manchester Derby at the Etihad Stadium while Alexandre Lacazette started for Arsenal in their 1-1 draw vs Wolves.
