Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has found it hard to cement a place in the first XI at Arsenal under his new manager and it’s being claimed that the player could be on his way out in the summer.
This season, the Frenchman has been under par having scored just 7 goals in 20 Premier League appearances for the Gunners and right now Mikel Arteta seems to have lost faith in the forward.
During the past couple of matches, Arteta has chosen to use Eddie Nketiah as his centre-forward while Alexandre Lacazette has been warming the benches and according to Steve Nicol, he will try and move to a new club if he is not guaranteed playing-time next season by Arteta.
“100 per cent, there’s no question, he will not be at Arsenal [next season],” Nicol told ESPN FC, as reported.
“He can’t get a game in any cup competition or the Premier League competition for Arsenal. That’s pretty clear Arteta doesn’t fancy him.
“And Atletico Madrid again, they’re struggling for goals from their front players as well.
“I think it’s the perfect move for both.”
Will Alexandre Lacazette leave Arsenal?
During the past couple of weeks, Atletico Madrid’s name have popped up quite a bit and there’s a huge chance that Alexandre Lacazette might be on his way to the La Liga in the summer.
Apart from Atletico, Barcelona were also linked with the player at the start of the season and there’s every chance the Catalans might come back for him at the end of the season.
And as far as Arsenal are concerned, Mikel Arteta has made it pretty clear that every player will have to work hard in order to earn their right to play in the first-team and it’s pretty evident he is not willing to bow down to star pressure.
So if Alexandre Lacazette cannot win back the trust of his manager by the end of the season, there’s every chance that he might be offloaded in the summer.
