Manchester United will be without three of their regular forwards when they visit Selhurst Park this week.

Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford picked up injuries during Man United’s clash vs Liverpool and the manager has given some not-so-positive news about their injuries.

Solskjaer has made it clear that Lingard had no chance of playing on Wednesday, Marcus Rashford still has an outside possibility.

But going by the manager’s tone during the press conference we feel that the England international is most likely to be ruled out.

Some reports claimed that Anthony Martial will return back to full fitness this week and will start alongside Romelu Lukaku at Selhurst Park but the manager has spoilt that party as well.

“Martial is not going to be ready for this one either. We can’t risk it, so maybe [he’ll be back for] Southampton but we’re not going to risk another one too early,” the Norwegian said.

This means that Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez will start up front against Crystal Palace and Solskjaer has urged the two forwards to step up for the occasion.

“It’s a chance for them to play to their potential,” he said.

“Their potential is high. The two of them are good mates and they link up together.

“This might be a chance to find some form and give us a selection headache. Rom created two big chances against Liverpool,

“The link-up between them against Arsenal in the cup was good.

“Hopefully Alexis and Romelu can step up. We will have a good team out on the pitch.”

Romelu Lukaku has played a string of games ever since Martial and Lingard picked up injuries vs PSG a couple of weeks ago and he had been working well along with Marcus Rashford.

But the same cannot be said for Alexis Sanchez.

With Lingard and Martial out of the picture, Solskjaer has opted to play Juan Mata in the attacking third instead of Alexis Sanchez which clearly goes on to show that the Chilean is not trusted right now.

But with Juan Mata also out injured, the manager has no other chance but to play Alexis Sanchez up front.
