Rangers FC signed Alfredo Morelos from Helsinki back in 2017 and since then the Colombian has been the feather on the cap for the Gers.

Last season, the forward managed to net a staggering 30 goals and also made 11 assists across all competitions and it looks like he has carried that same form into the current season as he has already netted 15 goals in just 21 appearances so far.

So naturally there have been a lot of clubs wanting to sign the forward and during the summer Steven Gerrard had clearly stated that a number of the big names wanted to acquire the services of Alfredo Morelos.

But somehow the Gers managed to keep hold of him for one more season though it was more or less evident that the 23-year-old would be on his way out next summer.

Now though, Alfredo Morelos has chosen to drop a bombshell saying he could be on his way out of the club as early as the January transfer window.

“So far there is nothing official,” he told Blue Radio SportsBlog[as reported].

“There is a lot of speculation about teams sending messages, but there is nothing, but if there is something concrete, then I will let you know officially.

“Hopefully in the January window, the biggest step to a more competitive league will be made.

“The Premier League is very strong and similar to Scotland; it suits how I play, and I like it a lot.”

VERDICT:

According to Football Whispers, clubs like Crystal Palace and Eintracht Frankfurt are sniffing around but if he chooses to move out in January then surely it will be a huge blow for Steven Gerrard and his plans.

Rangers are fighting tooth and nail to win the Premiership this season and if they want to achieve this feat then surely then would need Alfredo Morelos to stick around for the whole season.

But all said and done, if a Premier League club makes a move for the Colombian in January then we doubt if both the Gers as well as the player can resist the temptation.
