At the time of writing this article, Liverpool are at the top of the Premier League table having played one game more than Manchester City.

The Reds have been in exceptional form this season having drawn seven games and just one up until now.

At the start of the season, most pundits put their money on Manchester City to retain the title but right now it seems that many of them are switching their allegiances to Liverpool.

And according to Liverpool keeper, Alisson Becker the Reds have been able to perform so well this season because there are no egos inside the dressing room.

“In football generally there can be a lot of vanity,” Alisson said(as reported).

“Some players only look to themselves and can be selfish in only focusing on their own interests.

“At this club, I don’t see that, I see everyone looking for the same goal and working to achieve it.

“We have our goals and we are fighting for them – to win the league and everything we are playing in, the Champions League as well.

“This is a great team, always focused on the next game and the challenge. We can’t choose what we go for – if we could we would choose both!

“They are two big competitions. Of course in the Premier League, it is a long time since Liverpool won it, but we will fight for both.”

Next up, Liverpool take on Southampton in the Premier League following which they move into the Champions League where they will take on Porto in the quarter-finals.
