Alvaro Morata

Juventus’ Alvaro Morata was tipped to move out of Italy on the transfer deadline day with Barcelona, Spurs and Arsenal all interested in signing him.

But as per Fabrizio Romano, the centre-forward is going to remain with Juventus until the end of the season.

Romano tweeted on Monday morning: “Álvaro Morata has decided to stay at Juventus until the end of the season. No Arsenal, no Tottenham, no Barça move on Deadline Day.”

Why have Juventus not allowed Alvaro Morata to move out?

Juventus have just completed the signing of Dusan Vlahovic and immediately this deal was done, everyone was sure the Turin outfit will now allow Morata to move out, either on a loan deal or a permanent transfer.

But according to Romano, Allegri is against the idea of letting the 29-year-old leave since he wants him to play alongside Vlahovic for the second half of the season. Morata has netted only five goals in 22 Serie A games so far this campaign.

This is a massive blow for North London side Arsenal and Spurs since they are desperately trying to bring in a new centre-forward.

The two sides are in urgent need of reinforcements and missing out on someone like Alvaro Morata will be a huge blow for them in terms of securing a top-four finish.

Spurs still have Harry Kane as their prime centre-forward but the Gunners might have to make do with Alexandre Lacazette in that role if they fail to secure a transfer in time.

Why have Barcelona missed out on Alvaro Morata?

Barcelona were another side who were heavily interested in signing the ex-Chelsea man but according to the latest reports, it’s Diego Simeone who blocked this transfer.

At one point, Barca were confident of bringing the Spaniard on board but Simeone made sure that Atleti’s arch-rivals did not get their hands on the striker.

Thankfully, Barcelona are not left high and dry since they are going to sign Aubameyang from Arsenal meaning missing out on Alvaro Morata will not be an issue for them going forward.

Arsenal though might be the biggest losers in this whole saga since they first saw Dusan Vlahovic snub a move to the Emirates and join Juventus and now they are also missing out on Morata.
