Ander Herrera Man United news

During the past couple of weeks, there has been a buzz as to why Man United have not yet provided a new deal to Ander Herrera.

And to be honest, there have been many contrasting reports.

Some claim, Solskjaer does not view the Spaniard in his long-term plans and hence the club will let him leave while others claim, Ander Herrera has already agreed on terms of a new deal and the official announcement could be made anytime soon.

But earlier this week, some rumours claimed that Man United and Ander Herrera have been at odds over the player’s salary under his new contract – hence the delay in a deal.

As per reports, United are willing to pay £170,000-per-week but the midfielder has been holding out for £200,000-per-week.

And when the whole footballing community was busy dissecting these reports, Daily Record has dropped a bombshell claiming that Ander Herrera has already agreed on a pre-contract with Ligue 1 giants PSG.

This news sent everyone into a frenzy simply because it was out of the blue.

The report claims that Man United are not ready to be held ransom and will let Ander Herrera leave as a free transfer at the end of the season.

But here’s why we think this will not happen.

The first and the most obvious reason is a club like Man United will not let such a key player leave for a matter of just £30,000 especially when they have spent so much useless money over the past couple of seasons.

More so, United would be able to free up a lot of funds if they manage to offload Alexis Sanchez during the summer in which case paying that extra bit of money to Ander Herrera should not be a problem.

The second reason why Ander Herrera might not leave the club is that ever since Ole has taken charge of the club, it is very evident that Ander Herrera is one of his first choice central midfielders.

Despite having the likes of Fred, McTominay and Andreas Periera, the manager has always opted for the partnership of Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic in midfield which clearly shows a certain degree of faith on the Spaniard.

And so if the club are really not interested in paying that extra money, then surely Solskjaer would want to intervene and settle it out.
