Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has left the pre-season tour in America to head back home in order to stay beside his pregnant partner Melanie Da Cruz.
Martial has been given special permission by Man United manager Jose Mourinho to head back home early from the US tour in order to be with his 25-year-old girlfriend who has entered the final stages of his pregnancy.
But this exit from the squad could not have come at a more bad time for the French forward.
Martial had an average season during the 2017-18 campaign and this summer too he had failed to impress Jose Mourinho.
Multiple reports claim that the manager is growing increasingly frustrated with the forward and wants him to deliver the goods.
Martial too had shown a desire to move out of Old Trafford before the new season begins and reportedly wants to move to a club where he can play regular football.

The 22-year-old has no shortage of takers with clubs like Bayern Munich and Juventus interested in the player.
But as things stand the two teams that are closest to getting the player are London outfits Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
A couple of days ago some reports had claimed that both Chelsea and Spurs were planning to make an official approach to Manchester United in the coming few days and it seems that Martial’s homebound journey comes at the perfect moment.
The forward himself knows that without getting any more game time before the new Premier League season, it will be virtually impossible to move up the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
So he might feel that the time is just right to move out of Manchester and find a new challenge.
But having said all this we will have to wait and see if the Red Devils would want to sell such a superb talent to one of their direct rivals – a mistake that Jose had done a couple of times in the past.
