Manchester United took on Chelsea on Sunday at Wembley and defenders Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly both picked up head injuries during the loss.

While Harry Maguire carried on after initial treatment but Eric Bailly had to be stretchered off the pitch during the first half of the game.

And there have been some rumours that both the defenders might be doubts for Manchester United’s clash against West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Solskjaer was asked about the fitness of his two defenders and while he gave positive news about Harry Maguire but Eric Bailly might not be available for selection.

Ole said during his pre-match press conference: “He was in yesterday [Monday] and should be fine.

“Of course, he[Eric Bailly] was shaken up a bit. He had a big blow to his head. We’re still monitoring him.

“He stayed down in London after the game. I’ve not seen him this morning yet because these interviews are before the boys meet up.

“I’ll see him soon and, hopefully, he’ll be alright.”

Eric Bailly returned to Carrington on Tuesday morning but the way he was taken off the pitch on Sunday, we doubt if he will be risked vs the Hammers meaning it will once again be Harry Maguire and Lindelof who will start in central defence at OT.

This also means that Solskjaer will revert back to the familiar formation of a back-four after opting for a 3-5-2 formation against Chelsea on Sunday.

Luke Shaw missed the loss vs the Blues due to a slight ankle injury but the left-back should be fit enough to take the pitch against West Ham United.
