Barcelona brought in Malcom from Bourdeaux last summer but the winger has failed to cement his place in the first XI having played in only 15 La Liga games last season.

Last campaign, all Malcom did was warm the benches at the Nou Camp and it seems like Ernesto Valverde has already made plans to sell him off this summer.

Barca paid around £37 million to sign Malcom and now that Neymar is being linked with a move back to the club, the Catalans are trying to clear up the locker room.

And recent reports had claimed that the likes of Arsenal and Everton have been keeping tabs on the player’s situation at the club.

PSG had also been linked with a move for the winger but these rumours seem to have quickly fizzled out and there has been no mention of the Ligue 1 giants during the past few days.

Initially, it was thought that the Gunners would be the preferred destination for Malcom this summer, but in the past couple of days, Everton have been the favourites to sign the winger thanks to Arsenal’s unwillingness to sign him permanently.

As per the rumours, Arsenal can only afford a loan deal for Malcom this summer with an obligation to buy the next year but Barcelona want to try and offload the winger this transfer window itself and Everton have been willing to meet all the demands.

This was not particularly a big blow for Arsenal since they were looking at Malcom as a backup to Crystal Palace start Wilfried Zaha – a player, Unai Emery has been chasing for months now.

Now though it looks like the Gunners might not be able to get their hands on the Ivorian which has forced them to turn their focus back on the Barcelona man.

The Sun are reporting that Arsenal’s forcing Malcom to delay his decision about joining Everton so that they can make an official approach for him in the coming few days.

While Everton are very confident of signing the Barcelona misfit this summer but the Gunners are certainly not making things easy for them and rumours have it the North London club are now willing to sign Malcom permanently since they are on the verge of missing out on Wilfried Zaha.
