Before the start of the new Premier League season, everyone had their money on Manchester City to defend their league title.

These people had also claimed that Liverpool will give a tough competition to Pep Guardiola’s side but eventually, it will be the Citizens who will be crowned the champions come May.

But after playing eight games in the league, even Chelsea have emerged as title contenders.

Many people thought the Blues would still be finding their feet under new boss Maurizio Sarri but the former Napoli manager has taken no time to adjust to life in England.

Chelsea have the same points as Liverpool and Man City and currently sit second on the league table – based on their goal difference.

But talking after the Liverpool vs Man City game, Jurgen Klopp made it clear that apart from Liverpool and Guardiola’s side there are two more teams who will give a tough fight for the title.

Klopp said: “I knew this before! And Arsenal are two points behind, yeah? Having won six games in a row, did they? So it looks like they are in a good shape.

“But we played City today. You can get three points or one point or no points. We got one, which is fine.

“If somebody would have told me after eight match days you have 20 points, I would say with that fixture list ‘I’ll buy it, let’s start with the ninth match day!’”

Arsenal are truly turning out to be the dark horse this season as many expected the London outfit to sweat it out for a Champions League spot only.

But under their new manager Unai Emery, the Gunners have made sure they keep a close eye on the league leaders and currently just 2 points behind them.

Arsenal are on a nine-match unbeaten streak and going into the winter session, Unai Emery will surely be hoping that his team can challenge for the Premier League title.
