Arsenal will welcome Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend as Unai Emery’s side look to keep their good run of form going.

Before the match, every Arsenal fan has agreed in one voice that midfielder Lucas Torreira will be the talisman for them and if they wish to win three points then the former Sampdoria man will have to shine.

But football pundit Paul Merson believes that apart from Torriera there is one more player who has been exceptional for the Gunners since he joined the summer and he too will play a key role in the North London Derby.

Paul Merson was talking about Arsenal’s No 1 Bernd Leno.

“[Leno] is doing really well, isn’t he? ‘He looks a good goalkeeper, he looks like he’s got a good temperament as well,” Merson said on Sky Sports(via Football London).

“He’s made some great saves.

“They’re always out of danger, he doesn’t gamble, he doesn’t go “oh I think he’s going to hit it there”.

“That’s reading the game to the highest level. He’s been outstanding, absolutely outstanding.

“There was talk when Cech got fit, people were wondering if he would come back in,

“But now you’re thinking that’s a million miles away at the moment.

“A million miles away.”

The shot-stopper spent the first couple of weeks warming the benches at Arsenal and many believed that the former Bundesliga star was not going to break into the first team any time soon.

But ever since Bernd Leno got the chance to play infront of the goal, he has made the position his meaning veteran keeper Petr Cech is now out of favour.
