Mesut Ozil is a forgotten man at Arsenal.

So much so that rumours are claiming Arsenal have plans to offload him during the January transfer window and his next destination could be Inter Milan.

Ozil featured prominently during the first couple of weeks of the new season but as the campaign has rolled along, Unai Emery has chosen not to use the German.

The Arsenal manager obviously feels, Mesut Ozil is to slow to play in the current system and players like Iwobi and Mkhitaryan are being preferred to the playmaker.

Ozil has not featured for Arsenal in over a month and most believe the German’s fortunes will only get worse as the season rolls along.

But former Spurs and Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov has a word of advice for Mesut Ozil something which can help save his career at the Emirates.

‘Ozil is a great player,’ the former Man United striker said on Sky Sports(as reported by the Metro).

‘Sometimes you think is the football they’re playing effecting this great guy, great player? How do you fix that?

‘He is still a great player. When you don’t fit the system what do you do? You don’t play. How is that good for anyone?

‘I love watching him but football changes. You need to obey what your manager says.

‘If you’re smart you can press and help the team press. It’s not too difficult. So I don’t think it is a big problem for him.’

There’s no denying, Mesut Ozil is a pretty one-dimensional player and maybe Dimitar Berbatov is right.

You need to be a manager’s player if you wish to survive under Unai Emery. But so far Mesut Ozil is not particularly following that path.
