Arsenal manager Unai Emery wants to sign a winger during the summer transfer window.

And as per the reports, the manager had been eyeing a move for Lille man Nicolas Pepe.

Pepe has been one of the best attacking players in the Ligue 1 this season scoring 16 goals and providing ten assists this season for Lille and a host of Premier League clubs have shown an interest in signing him.

Nicolas Pepe current deal with Lille expires in 2022 and as per TransferMarkt, the right winger has been valued at £36 million but as per the reports, Lille wants somewhere around £72 million.

And it looks like, Bayern Munich are the one who are likely to sign him up during the summer transfer window.

It looks like not only has Nicolas Pepe has chosen to go to Bayern Munich but Arsenal have been priced out by the hefty price tag.

Arsenal will provide Unai Emery with a transfer budget of around £45 million during the summer transfer window and it comes nowhere close to the asking price for Nicolas Pepe.

Unai Emery has openly claimed that he needs an attacking wide player hence why he chose to sign Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona.

And now reports suggest that the manager is looking to sign a winger during at the end of the season.

While Niclas Pepe would have been a superb signing for Arsenal but with that kind of a price tag, the Gunners will never even come to close to making an offer.

So it looks like the Lille man is on his way to the Bundesliga.
