Arsenal suffered a shock defeat at the hands of BATE in the Europa League last week away from home.

Almost everyone expected the Gunners to return back home with a comfortable victory but Unai Emery’s men made a meal out of the game.

Now they have the chance to set things straight this Thursday when BATE come to the Emirates for the second leg of the Round of 32.

Arsenal vs BATE: Gunners team news

Unai Emery will most certainly not take any chances and name his strongest XI on Thursday despite the fact they play Southampton in the Premier League just three days later.

Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding remain long term absentees while Sokratis is still nursing that ankle injury meaning Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi should play in central defence.

Sead Kolasinac will retain his place at left-back while Maitland-Niles will play as the right-back.

Aaron Ramsey is recovering from an ankle injury and the Welshman is not expected to be named in the matchday squad vs BATE.

Mesut Ozil has been deemed unfit but even if he was fit the playmaker will only manage to find a place on the bench.

Lucas Torreira started the first leg on the bench and it is expected to be the same at the Emirates which means Denis Suarez should finally get his full debut since joining the club in January.

Granit Xhaka will play in defensive midfield while Matteo Guendouzi should partner Suarez in central midfield.

Lacazette picked up a red card during the first leg which means Auabemyang will start in front with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi occupying the wings.
