Ever since Paul Pogba returned back to Man United a couple of seasons ago, the Frenchman has never quite been able to hit his stride.

And this season, things hit a new low when the midfielder had an alleged fallen off with former manager Jose Mourinho.

Both of them publicly criticised each other on multiple occasions and at one point it was looking as if Paul Pogba could be on his way out of the club in January.

And speaking about the midfielder’s performances during the first half of the season, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher had said that even if Mourinho was to leave, Paul Pogba would not be able to turn things around.

“I don’t think if he’s worth the hassle for what he gives on the pitch,” Carragher told Sky Sports back in September(as reported).

“And there’s an idea that it’s one or the other. If Mourinho goes you won’t see a new Pogba, I can assure Manchester United fans of that.

“He’s not as good as he thinks he is. He’s got talent but his big problem is his understanding of the game.

“It’s been a problem since he arrived and it hasn’t changed now.”

But under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Paul Pogba is a completely different player.

The manager has taken the midfielder out of his shackles asking him to play freely and not focus too much on his defensive aspect of the game.

Instead, Ole has handed that dirty job to the duo of Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.

And the results are out there for all to see.

Paul Pogba has been directly involved in 15 goals for the club under the caretaker boss and after United’s 2-0 win over Chelsea, Jamie Carragher thought it would be the right time to rectify his comments.

“Well I hope you completely disagreed at the time & not just now?!!!,” he said.

“He’s been a revelation since OGS came in because he’s basically let him play without defending.

“I didn’t see this turn around so I have no problem saying I was wrong.”
