Arsenal have made a new and improved bid for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney this past week – as per the latest reports.

And the Gunners were pretty confident with the new bid since it was in the region of £25 million – the exact fee that Celtic have been demanding.

Sky Sports had reported, “Arsenal have made an improved offer in the region of £25m for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, Sky Sports News understands.

“Sky Sports News understands that Serie A side Napoli are also interested in a deal for the Scotland international.”

But speaking about the player’s situation, Neil Lennon had hinted that Arsenal know exactly what they have to do if they wish to take Kieran Tierney to the Emirates this summer.

Speaking about the Tierney saga earlier this week, Neil Lennon said(as reported by the Metro): ‘I have taken no notice of the headlines, I am well aware of where we are in terms of the situation.

‘I spoke to Kieran in Austria and to be honest I haven’t really seen much of him because he came back early for rehab, so has not been on the training ground as yet.

‘It can be an unsettling period for any player and that is understandable but until a club comes up with any sort of realistic valuation of the player we don’t have to do anything and we won’t.

‘It’s as you were. Kieran is getting on with his rehabilitation and we are getting on with what we have to do here.’

Now though fresh reports from the Scottish Herald are claiming that Arsenal’s new bid for Kieran Tierney is still short of the £25 million price tag that Celtic have set.

And the Bhoys are in no mood to give a discount.

The report suggests: “It is understood that the London club returned to Celtic this weekend with an improved offer for the 22-year-old but reports that they had tabled a deal in line with the Parkhead side’s £25m price tag on Tierney are believed to be wide of the mark.”

This is certainly a huge development since everyone was pretty confident that Arsenal’s second bid would be accepted by Celtic and some rumours had also claimed that Kieran Tierney could be a Gunner by next week.

Now though if the Scottish Herald are right then surely the left-back is nowhere to leaving Scotland this summer and Arsenal will surely have to make a third bid to sign their man.
