Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard is one of the busier Premiership managers this summer transfer window as the Gers have already brought in a couple of new signings.

At the time of writing this article, Rangers have managed to bring in the likes of George Edmunson, Joe Aribo and Filip Helander and a few more like are also expected to arrive.

But on the exit front, the list right now is pretty small as most of the departed players are out on loan deals and the only major exit has been that of Lee Wallace who moved to QPR as a free agent.

Now though the Rangers manager has told the media that a few more players are expected to leave the club during the coming few weeks.

“We will, naturally, try to move people out the door because the squad is bloated and too big at the moment,” Gerrard said.

“Over the coming weeks, we’re hoping to move some on

“It’s very difficult to meet everyone’s ambitions in terms of game time because everyone wants to start every game and it’s difficult to do so.

“If there’s something out there that will suit the player and the club then I’ll respect that.

“In terms of incomings, we’re near enough done,

“I always say near enough, you’re never done as a manager but there won’t be much more activity in terms of incomings.”

“We’ve got quality players in each position and we’ve got people fighting for places.”

Right now, Rangers have as many as four goalkeepers so surely one of them will be heading for the exit doors pretty soon.

And also Steven Gerrard has too many midfielders in his current squad. So it would make sense that the Gers boss would want to cash in on some of them this transfer window.
