Arsene Wenger left Arsenal last summer but before vacating his chair, the Frenchman managed to bring in Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.

Aubameyang was signed by Arsenal during the January transfer window of 2018 from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around €64 million. And this season he has certainly gone on to prove his worth.

The Gabon international scored 22 goals in just 36 Premier League games for the Gunners which helped him pick up the Golden Boot alongside Mane and Mo Salah.

But with such good performances, there has been some obvious limelight with reports claiming that Aubameyang has been given a very lucrative offer from the Chinese Super League.

Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande want to sign the player during the summer transfer and are willing to offer him weekly wages of around £300,000.

In case he does decide to move to China then surely it will be a major upgrade since he currently receives £200,000(as reported) but there is one clause in his Arsenal contract which might just prevent him from exiting the Emirates this summer.

As per Express: “German outlet Kicker have claimed that Aubameyang will need to stick around at the Emirates in order to receive his £3.8m (€4.2m) bonus he gets at the end of every completed season at the club.”

£3.8 million is a very big amount of money and if he can get that much by playing for Arsenal he surely wouldn’t consider making a move to the relatively unknown Chinese Super League.

But then some people feel that Arsenal should be smart and sell off the striker this summer.

The first big reason is obviously the fact that Emery needs money to rebuild his squad and sending Aubameyang to China will bring in a very hefty transfer amount.

Also, Aubameyang is soon to become 30 years old which means that very shortly he will be entering the final few seasons of his professional career.

So instead of trying to hold onto an ageing player, Arsenal might as well use the money from his transfer and bring in someone younger.
