Liverpool are planning to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season and it looks like Jurgen Klopp is planning to make a move for Nabil Fekir.

Nabil Fekir has come up through the ranks at Lyon and this season, the attacking midfielder has once again shown that he is more than capable of playing for any major powerhouse in Europe.

During the 2018-19 season, the 25-year-old scored 12 goals and made 9 assists in just 39 games for the Ligue 1 side and these are sensational numbers for a midfielder.

And reports are claiming that Liverpool have made contact with Lyon over the possible transfer of Fekir during the summer transfer window.

This though is not the first time that the Reds have shown interest in signing the 25-year-old as last summer, Klopp went all out to bring him to Anfield.

But Lyon held out for a transfer fee of around £60 million which proved to be too steep a price and Liverpool eventually pulled out of the race.

Now though it seems the Premier League outfit have returned after Lyon’s president Jean-Michael Aulas had recently claimed that Nabile Fekir could be on his way out of the club this summer.

According to Lyon-based paper Le Progres (as reported), Liverpool ‘have returned to the charge, but would not be willing to invest as much as last summer’.

As per the report, Lyon currently wants €50million for the midfielder which is still a big transfer fee according to Liverpool.

But this time, Klopp is not giving up home.

Liverpool will play Lyon in a friendly next month and experts believe that the two clubs will sit down for negotiations during this time.

Nabil Fekir currently has a year left on his current contract which is why Liverpool are hopeful that Lyon will lower their demands or they risk losing him for free next year.

Some rumours suggest that Xherdan Shaqiri could be on his way out of Anfield this summer since he has not received significant game time and this is why Klopp is planning to bring in Nabil Fekir as a replacement for the Swiss international.
