Arsenal manager Unai Emery is out in the market looking for defensive reinforcements and it looks like he has put his focus on Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.

Kieran Tierney has come up through the ranks at Celtic and last season he was easily one of the best young talents in the Premiership.

The left-back played in 40 games for the Bhoys scoring one and making six and now it looks like he could be heading to the Emirates during the summer.

But if reports from Scotland are to be believed then Arsenal will have to shell out a hefty amount if they wish to sign Kieran Tierney.

Celtic sold Moussa Dembele last summer for a record fee of £19.8million and they are set to demand even more for the young left-back.

According to the Daily Record, the Old Firm outfit are set to demand around £25 million plus Carl Jenkinson in return of Kieren Tierney.

The Bhoys very well know the worth of the left-back and they also have a pretty clear idea that they will not be able to hold onto him for much longer.

So a sensible thing to do would be to get as much money as possible from the transfer of Kieren Tierney this summer.

It is still unclear whether Arsenal would be willing to pay that much money for the 22-year-old but certainly, they should not have any issues in handing over Carl Jenkinson to Celtic as the right-back has featured in only three league games for the Gunners this season.

UPDATE:

The latest reports are claiming that Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Kieren Tierney which could only mean that they are ready to shell out £25 million for the youngster.

Now they only have to fend off interest from Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City who are said to be the front runners in signing the left-back this summer.
