Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was one of the goalscorers for Arsenal last weekend when the Gunners beat Man United at the Emirates.

Granit Xhaka had scored the first goal of the match and Aubameyang had the chance to secure all three points when Man United gave away a penalty in the second half.

But surely, a lot of the home fans would have had their hearts in their mouths when Aubameyang stepped up to take the spot-kick only because the Gabon international had missed one vs Spurs only a week ago.

Aubameyang had the chance to secure a win vs the Lilywhites when the Gunners were awarded an injury-time penalty but the forward surprisingly missed it.

So naturally, when he converted from the spot on Sunday vs Man United everyone was relieved and speaking after the match Aubameyang revealed why he was able to convert that penalty.

“I was confident, my team-mates give me a lot of confidence,” Aubameyang said on Sky Sports(as reported).

“Laca gave me the penalty and that was cool from him, I was really focused

“I made a mistake against Tottenham, looking down at the last moment, not watching [Hugo] Lloris, but today I watched until the end and being focused you score a penalty.

“I know where the ball is and you have to practice this all the time, and today it went in! I knew that it would be tough, but I was feeling confident and if I missed this one, what can I say?”

This win for Arsenal means they have now reclaimed the fourth-spot on the Premier League table and right now they surely have the upper hand in qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Until Chelsea don’t play their extra game in hand of course.
