Chelsea have been linked with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell for a number of months now and it finally seems, Lampard is about to chase him down – according to a report from Todofichajes.

The left-back has been a rock-solid performer for the Foxes this season having featured in 23 Premier League games so far this campaign but they are willing to part ways with him in the summer if a club is ready to pay the correct transfer fee.

Various reports have suggested Leicester will take nothing short of £50 million in exchange for Ben Chilwell and at first, this price tag was a big cause of concern for Chelsea’s management.

Now though the Blues should be more than ready to pay the desired fee for Chilwell since Lampard has put Emerson up for sale.

The likes of Juventus and Inter Milan have shown an inclination towards signing the left-back and as per the latest reports, Chelsea want around€40 million to let the player leave for Italy in the summer.

Yes, this is a steep price to quote but Lampard’s hoping one of the two Italian clubs will agree to pay the fee which in turn will be used to fund the transfer of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.

Chilwell still has four years left on his current deal at the King Power so Brendan Rodgers is in no hurry to sell him off. But Leicester have been a really smart player in the market which is why if Chelsea are willing to meet their demands, the Foxes will most certainly let the left-back head for London.

As soon as the Blues get a positive sign in the Emerson deal, they will proceed with the transfer of Ben Chilwell but some rumours claim Lampard has already made contact with LCFC over the deal.

£50 million is without a doubt a very huge sum to pay for a full-back but if the London outfit can manage to funnel this money via the sale of Emerson then it will be a job well done by Frank Lampard.
