Man United beat Leicester City 2-0 in the final matchday of the season meaning they have finished 3rd on the Premier League table and will play in next season’s Champions League.

Getting back into the UCL is the first big step towards progress for the Man United manager but there’s still a lot of work to be done, especially in the transfer market during the coming months.

There’s no denying that the Red Devils are still miles behind the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City and according to Ryan Giggs, his former side needs to bring in some ready-made first-team regulars for the upcoming season.

Giggs told Premier League Productions, via Metro: ‘It’s huge[qualifying for the Champions League]. Attracting players as well. Some players will choose clubs that are in the Champions League and holding on to some too. It’s just huge.

‘Eventually when we get crowds back Champions League nights at Old Trafford are special. ‘Ole’s beginning to mould a team which is exciting. He said there that they were running out of legs a little bit.

‘After lockdown, he’s played the same team more or less which he had to because they’re on such a good run so it was hard to chop and change.

‘I agree with Tim [Sherwood] they need three players I would say that can go into the starting XI even to challenge for the league and the champions league next year.’

With the likes of Fernandes and Greenwood, Solskjaer has managed to strengthen his forward line quite a bit and we are confident that the manager will now look to work his midfield and his defensive areas.

Ole needs to bring in one defensive midfielder and possibly two quality centre-backs before the next season begins. If they fail to do that they they could once again be fighting for just a top-four finish.
