Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the Premier League and with that Pep Guardiola’s side are yet to lose a game this season.

The Citizens scored the only goal of the game in the first half through Riyad Mahrez following which they dominated the play for most of the game.

And it was only after Mauricio Pochettino’s substitution late in the second half that Spurs got back into the game but it was too late by then.

While Man City were over all the superior team during the night but not every Citizen has a positive outing on the pitch.

One such player was full-back Benjamin Mendy who had a very poor game as he was caught out on several occasions.

Players like Eric Lamela and Sissoko went past Mendy with ease on a couple of occasions and out of frustration, Benjamin Mendy chose to lash out at Eric Lamela.

Mendy threw a punch out of frustration which missed Eric Lamela but a small margin.

Initially, the referee or the linesman chose not to punish Benjamin Mendy hinting at the fact that they did not see the incident.

And it was played back, everyone knew that the full-back was going to be in trouble.

Now though fresh reports are suggesting that referee Kevin Friend was fully aware of the incident but chose not to take any action against it after the match.

Benjamin Mendy’s outburst did not even make it to the match report which means that they will be no investigation from the FA and neither a ban will be imposed on him.
