Billy Gilmour had a standout performance for Chelsea FC as the Blues beat Liverpool 2-0 in the 5th Round of the FA Cup.
After this fine performance, there have been rumours that Frank Lampard might use the youngster once again in the starting XI when the Blues welcome Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
And speaking after the Liverpool game, the manager has hinted that Billy Gilmour has made a really good account of himself before the Toffees clash.
The manager talked about Gilmour’s chances of playing vs Everton, via Metro: ‘We’ll see. He’s definitely given himself a good chance no matter what regardless of the selection of others. The way he played gives him a chance anyway.
‘We’ve got injury problems but sometimes you can cry about them a lot and I probably do sometimes.
‘But we have injuries at the start of the season and we have them now in this period.
‘When you’re talking about N’Golo Kante you’re talking about the best midfielder in the world, there or thereabouts.

‘Ruben Loftus-Cheek hasn’t kicked a ball. He played last night [for U23s against Everton] and felt okay but he knows he isn’t match fit so we’ll have to work around it.
‘But when you see the performances of Ross Barkley or Mason Mount, we have enough options.
‘What’s more important is not what eleven I put out against Everton, it’s that they bottle that spirit and show the same work ethic to try and get the right result.’
Jorginho is suspended for the Everton game while Mateo Kovacic is also ruled out with an Achilles injury, meaning there’s a big chance that Billy Gilmour gets a start in central midfield this weekend.
