AFC Bournemouth visit Arsenal in the Premier League this week and before the match, Eddie Howe has chosen to provide some dampening news.

Bournemouth are currently 10th on the league table with 34 points and picking up a win at the Emirates was as it is a really tough ask.

But now it looks like that this job has gotten even harder given the number of injury concerns that the Cherries currently have.

Jefferson Lerma is ruled out of the clash vs Arsenal game due to suspension and Eddie Howe has claimed that the Colombian will be a big miss at the Emirates.

“Jeff’s been a big player for us this season,” he said as per the club’s official website.

“He has the physicality in midfield, he’s committed, very much a winner and those qualities are what any midfielder would want.

The Bournemouth manager has also claimed that Stanislas and Steve Cook are still some time away from full fitness and will miss the game vs Arsenal.

“We have a few injuries, so many that I can’t remember!”

“Junior will be out, Steve’s had a long-standing groin problem for a couple of months, having moments when it’s been better than in other moments and then in the build-up to the game on Saturday it got too much for him.

“It was a real blow to lose him, he’s been one of the big leaders in our dressing room for some time and we really missed him.”

While Stanislas is recovering from a hip strain, Cook, on the other hand, has a groin injury.

Callum Wilson and David Brooks are both recovering well but the pair is only expected to return sometime next month.

“Callum and David are improving and doing well,” explained Howe.

“But we haven’t seen them join in training yet and that shows you they won’t be ready for this game.

“I don’t have a date in mind, but they have to be right to perform for the team. It’s a case of trying to get them back fit for us.”

All these injuries will mean that Bournemouth manager, Eddie Howe field a team with reduced capabilities on Wednesday which should mean that Arsenal should be looking at an easy win.
