Manchester United finally managed to get their hands on Bruno Fernandes during the January transfer window.
And the playmaker has made an instant impact on the side giving MOTM class performances in each of his appearances so far – even when playing for 10 odd minutes in his Europa League debut.
So far his peak performance has come against Watford last weekend, scoring one and assisting the other two. And his manager has now admitted that Bruno Fernandes has added that much-needed flair to the first-team squad.
“We feel we’ve added some X-factor quality with Bruno,” the manager said about Bruno Fernandes.
“The addition of Bruno gives us a bit of a different flavour. He likes to play forward passes and take risks, which is what a Man United player should do.
“His imagination and his overview is a couple of seconds ahead of many players. It is one of his strengths – he knows what he wants to do. He can change his mind in a split-second. That composure has been important.
“We want to develop that X-factor. He’s come in and impressed everyone but we don’t want to put a limit on what he can do.”
With Paul Pogba out for most of the season, Man United were lacking that creativity in and around the final third. And this is one of the major reasons why the OT outfit has constantly failed to score goals.
But with the addition of Bruno Fernandes, suddenly Solskjaer has a player who can find that crucial defence-splitting pass near the penalty area. And if Ole can manage to hold onto Paul Pogba for the upcoming season then surely the Red Devils will have very little problems in and around the midfield areas.
