Chelsea lost their last away game of the Premier League season, going down 5-3 to Liverpool at Anfield. And this loss means they will have to come out with a positive result against Wolves on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
The defeat has given a major boost to Manchester United and Leicester City, both of whom are also trying to secure a Champions League spot next season.
And speaking about their hopes of keeping their UCL status, Frank Lampard has admitted that they are still the writers of their own faith going into the do or die match this weekend.
Speaking after the match, the Chelsea boss said, as per the club’s official website: “Since restart, there was a feeling it could go this far. I felt we maybe could get over the line tonight before the game because we played so well against Manchester United.
“We contributed to this game well and on another night, at 4-3, we go on to get our point but now there will be a lot going on on Sunday. What is absolutely important is the players focus on themselves because it is in our own hands, and that is the job I’ll do because we can’t affect what is going on elsewhere.
“We have to try to get over the line. We have character in the group, we have quality and we have a good opponent coming and it is on us now.
“In match-play we were OK. They’re a fantastic team and we can’t afford to make those mistakes. If we don’t concede a fifth I thought we were coming. We have to suck this in and accept it here tonight because it’s where we want to get to.

Wolves in no ways are going to be easy opponents especially when they are also trying to play in the Europa League next season. So with Spurs breathing down their necks, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will in no ways let Chelsea run them over on Sunday.
Leicester City and Manchester United take on each other on the final matchweek of the season so if the Red Devils can pick up a draw(in the case that Chelsea were to beat Wolves) then Brendan Rodgers’ side will miss out on Champions League football next season.
