Striker Jason Cummings joined Rangers FC from Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window on a loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

But new Gers manager Steven Gerrard has refused to sign the player permanently allowing him to move back to Nottingham.

Cummings’ time at Ibrox was a total disaster as the 22-year-old managed to score only 2 goals in 15 appearances during the second half of the 2017-18 season prompting Steven Gerrard to look for other options.

After  Rangers released the striker Nottingham Forest have sent him out on yet another loan spell – this time to League One club Peterborough.

But it seems that despite having a bad spell at Rangers, Jason Cummings sent out a heartfelt message to the Gers fans are his loan spell was terminated.

Cummings wrote on social media: “Gutted that it’s over but happy that it happened. Wish I had been given more of a chance but that’s football. Thanks to the fans who made it special for me,”

And after Jason Cummings posted this message, the Daily Record quoted this message and posted it on Twitter.

Immediately this message was picked up by Celtic fans who made fun of the striker for thanking the Gers fans despite staying for such a short time at the club.
