David Neres just won the Copa America with Brazil this weekend but the 22-year-old did not get to feature for the South American side in the final.

Brazil beat Peru 3-1 and with Gabriel Jesus sent off there was no way that the Ajax man would get to play in the final.

“It was hard for me to lose my place,” David Neres said after the final.

“I did my best but it wasn’t enough. Ultimately, I am part of the team and it is important that we won. I can still be satisfied with that.”

Despite failing to make it to the first XI for Brazil, David Neres has had a wonderful season with Ajax both in the Eredivisie and also in the Champions League.

And much like Frenkie de Jong, the winger too has been tipped to move out of the club this summer transfer window.

Last season’s Ajax side was beaming with talent but much like any other time, the Amsterdam side has found it really hard to hold onto their stars.

De Jong has already left and De Ligt is also expected to move out of the club. But, David Neres has made it clear that he does not wish to leave Ajax.

The 22-year-old said: “I’m having a beer because I have something to celebrate. I have to be back at Ajax on July 28. My future is with Ajax .”

This will certainly be a huge blow for the likes of Everton and Manchester United who have been heavily linked with a move for the winger this summer.

Solskjaer is eager to bring in a right winger and David Neres fit the brief perfectly.

But now though it seems the youngster wants to sharpen up his skills by staying put at Ajax for a couple of more years.

Also, we are not quite sure the Eredivisie side would be too keen to let the 22-year-old leave this summer since they have already lost someone like Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt is also expected to move out any time in the coming few weeks.
