Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly set their eyes on Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen and the London outfits are preparing to make a bid during the summer transfer window.

Jasper joined Barcelona in 2016 for an initial €13 million plus another €2 million in add-ons, replacing the outgoing Claudio Bravo who had moved to the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

But the 29-year-old Cillessen had remained the second choice keeper for Barcelona behind Ter Stegen and has made his appearances mostly in the domestic cup competitions.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are currently out in the market for a new goalkeeper and it seems that the London clubs are set to lock horns over Cillessen.

Arsenal’s current No 1 Petr Cech is well past his prime and it is no secret that the Gunners are looking to replace him as soon as possible. On the other hand, Cech’s former club Chelsea too are on the verge of losing Thibaut Courtois who has been a subject of interest from Real Madrid over the course of the previous season.

The Blues are trying to rope in a new shot-stopper before Courtois packs his bags for Spain and by the looks of it, Jasper Cillessen will be a perfect fit.

Barcelona though are not too eager to part ways with their second choice keeper but according to reports the Catalans might not have much say in this matter given that Cillessen’s release clause is just £52 million.
