Chelsea have made their first signing of the new year in the form of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund but the American has been loaned back to his parent club until the end of the season.

And now if reports are to be believed then Maurizio Sarri is planning to make a bid for Barcelona’s midfielder Denis Suarez.

Suarez joined Barcelona in 2016 from Villarreal but the player has found it really difficult to break into the first team setup at Camp Nou.

This season Denis Suarez has managed to make just six appearances for the club in all competitions – scoring two goals.

And now reports are suggesting that both Chelsea and Arsenal could launch bids for the 24-year-old this month.

Denis Suarez’s current deal runs out in 2020 meaning Barcelona are in no hurry to offload him. But if clubs are willing to pay the right price then the Catalans will not think twice before offloading him.

Maurizio Sarri has been a long-term admirer of the player and the Italian had previously tried to sign him for Napoli and also for Chelsea during the summer.

But we doubt if Denis Suarez would want to join the Stamford Bridge outfit given he will have to fight off the likes of Jorginho and Cesc Fabregas in order to secure a first-team role.

Things will not be too easy with Arsenal either since Lucas Torreira has carved out his own spot at the heart of the Arsenal team.

But the fact that Aaron Ramsey will be leaving the club this month, Denis Suarez might find it a bit easier if he were to chose the Gunners over Chelsea.
