Chelsea are planning to make a couple of new signings during the summer transfer window in case their transfer ban is lifted or postponed.

And if reports are to be believed then the Blues want to bring in OGC Nice defender Youcef Atal.

The 22-year-old right-back joined in 2018 and this season the youngster has been in peak form for the French club which has turned the heads of many a top European clubs.

Nice are expected to receive a number of bids for Youcef Atal at the end of the season but Patrick Vieira has made it clear that they are not ready to part ways with the full-back right now.

The primary reason why Nice are not willing to let go of Youcef Atal is because the club do not have a long-term replacement for him and this is where Chelsea might just be able to help him.

The Blues currently have Tariq Lamptey who is also a right-back and if reports are to be believed then the Viera is an admirer of the 18-year-old.

Reports claim that if Chelsea are willing to offer Lamptey in a swap deal for Youcef Atal then Nice might just think off letting him go during the summer transfer window.

Atal is currently valued at £35 million in the transfer market which means that the Blues will also have to offer money along with Lamptey in order to secure a transfer for the Nice full-back.

But given that the Algerian is already at the top of his game, this deal will obviously be more beneficial for Chelsea because finally, Azpilicueta will have competition for his place in the first team squad.

Right now, Azpilicueta is more or less the undisputed No 1 right-back under Sarri but once Youcef Atal comes into the picture then surely the youngster will be tipped to replace the veteran.

Another big advantage for Sarri is he buys the Nice right-back is that apart from playing on the right, the 22-year-old is also capable of playing as a left-back and a right-sided midfielder.

But all these dreams will only be fulfilled if the transfer ban on Chelsea is lifted before the transfer window kicks off.
