Chelsea will sign this 25 Y/O Spanish full-back but only on one condition

Premier League side Chelsea have registered an interest in left-back Alfonso Pedraz but according to Talk Chelsea’s Will Faulks, the Blues will sign the Villarreal left-back only if they can offload Emerson and Alonso.

He wrote on Twitter: “Chelsea interest in Alfonso Pedraza is serious. They will look to sign him later this summer, if and when both Alonso and Emerson are gone.

“Villareal open to selling and player happy to move for big wage bump.

“Very attacking left back, not going to beat Chilwell out for a starting spot but cheap and easy to sign, makes sense for all parties really. Emerson 2.0 really.”

Will Chelsea spend money on Alfonso Pedraz?

Chelsea spent big on Ben Chilwell last season and there’s no doubt the England international is going to be the first-choice left-back this season.

And while Alfonso Pedraz can be the perfect back-up to Chilwell, some rumours are claiming that Thomas Tuchel might not let Emerson leave after his fine performances in the European Championship with Italy.

Chelsea should not have any problems in cashing in on Marcos Alonso this summer but they will either look to hold onto Emerson or quote a significantly high fee thanks to his Euro endeavours.

Alfonso Pedraz is valued at £18 million and his current deal with Villarreal expires in 2025. So there’s no way the La Liga are not going to sell him off in a bargain deal this summer.

Thomas Tuchel needs to bring in some high priority signings before the new season begins so the manager will be reluctant to spend any added money on the 25-year-old.

The only way Chelsea will make a move for Pedraz is if they can get substantial funds by selling either Alonso or Emerson or maybe both.
