Chelsea will be able to buy new players during the January transfer window after their ban was halved earlier this month. And many people predict a spending spree from the London outfit.

The Blues weren’t able to bring in any new players during the summer and since then Frank Lampard has been relying on the club’s youngsters to pull him through.

While the likes of Mount and Abraham have done a pretty decent job but its quite clear that inexperience is catching up with them and Lampard surely needs to bring in some fresh legs next month.

And when he was asked about his transfer window plans, the Chelsea boss hinted that the club could be looking to bring in some attacking talents primarily to replace Eden Hazard who left for Real Madrid.

“I will look at all areas of the team but I think it was quite clear in the summer that you lose Eden Hazard, who was a huge part of scoring or creating our goals last season and the season before that,” Chelsea’s manager said.

“I think we’ve found ways as a team where we can still be competitive. We’ve shown that in the league and now the Champions League. But if we’re looking at if we can get even better, can we get better in forward areas to help the idea of being more clinical, then I think we’ll always look at that.

“We’re just not converting enough. Some of that is to keep working and I’m not here to criticise anybody because we’ve just qualified from a really tough group to get through to the next stage of the Champions League. But we have standards here and I know how much the players also want to be successful. It’s very clear, so we’ll keep working towards it.”

But while wanting to bring in forwards to the squad, the Chelsea boss has also clarified that he will not be looking to many any crazy spending during the January transfer window.

“I am calm about this window, I am very calm about it,” Lampard added.

“We are improving. Even the little bumps of the past two weeks are just part of the process. I believe in what we’ve got now. I don’t think we’re going to be crazy just because the ban has been lifted.”
