Chelsea are winless in their last five games in the Premier League and after losing to Spurs, they are 10th on the table with just 31 points against their name.

Their previous three matches in all competitions have ended in defeats and next up, they take on Leeds United and the terrible form they are in right now, no one can confidently claim that Chelsea will beat the Elland Road outfit.

Leeds are also in a poor run of form but even they will be hopeful of picking up something from Saturday’s match. Graham Potter seems to have no idea what he is doing and despite having so many world-class players in his squad, the manager keeps rotating his first XI. The pressure is mounting on the manager and now he will have to deliver results because if Chelsea cannot play in Europe next season, there’s no way Potter will be at the helm.

On paper, this Chelsea side should easily beat Leeds United but based on their current form we just cannot make this prediction.

Chelsea’s team news and injury updates vs Leeds:

Graham Potter already has a long injury list and in a fresh setback, Thiago Silva has now been ruled with a knee injury. He picked up a knock in the Spurs game and the club have confirmed that the defender will be out for a couple of weeks.

The statement read: ‘Scan results have confirmed damage to Thiago’s knee ligaments, and he will now work closely with the club’s medical department during his rehabilitation to return to action ASAP.’

This is a massive blow for the manager because Silva is the backbone of the team and without him, the defence is absolutely fragile.

Now, that Thiago Silva is out injured we will have to see which centre-back moves up the pecking order. The manager has options like Kouliably and Wesley Fofana.

Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy are all sidelined with injuries but Mateo Kovacic should come back into the squad after recovering from his illness.

If Kovacic is not fit then Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Gallagher will pair up with Enzo Fernandes in the middle of the park.

Hakim Ziyech and Raheem Sterling we both underwhelming against Tottenham last weekend so they are likely to make way for Madueke and Mudryk this time around.

Honestly, it’s very hard to predict which players will Graham Potter select because he is really fond of making changes but honestly, with the kind of form that they are in right now, the Chelsea manager should try and keep things as simple as possible.
