PSG are now the frontrunners in the signing of left-back Alex Telles from FC Porto which is a huge setback for Premier League side Chelsea FC.

As per Le10Sport, the Parisian outfit have now made Telles one of their top transfer priorities and have also held talks with the 27-year-old’s representatives.

The report claims: “On the shelves of PSG for a few months, Alex Telles is now the subject of official negotiations between Paris and FC Porto.

“According to our information, PSG officially entered into negotiations with FC Porto for Alex Telles. Paris, which wants to recruit to the position of the left side to compensate for the departure of Layvin Kurzawa has moved closer to Porto to start the discussions for a summer transfer.

“According to our sources, the PSG is also talking with representatives of Alex Telles at the same time.”

Are Chelsea set to miss out on Alex Telles?

With Emerson likely to leave, Chelsea desperately need to bring in a new left-back for the next season and Alex Telles was one of the players who had spiked the interest of Frank Lampard.

But now with PSG interested in him, there’s a big chance the 27-year-old could snub a move to England and head to the Ligue 1 in the summer.

Thankfully, Chelsea do have other left-backs on their radar, namely Ben Chilwell but if Lampard is keen on Alex Telles then the Blues can still make a formal move for him.

Le10Sport claim that PSG have not yet launched an official bid for the Porto man and they are also not too keen to spend a massive amount on the full-back.

The left-back has only one more year left on his current deal with Porto meaning Chelsea might be able to land him for free. And if the Blues can manage to squeeze out a massive amount from Inter Milan from the sale of Emerson then funding the transfer of Alex Telles should not be a big headache for Lampard.

This season, the full-back has been in fine form for Porto scoring eight and assisting five goals in 23 Liga NOS games.
