Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has decided not to put midfielders Jorginho and N’Golo Kante up for sale in the summer despite heavy interest – as per ESPN.

Both these players have had their fair share of problems at Stamford Bridge as a result of which they have been tipped to move out at the end of the 2019-20 season.

But ESPN thinks otherwise since they are claiming: “Chelsea are ready to offload several first-team players to help fund a summer rebuild but are expected to resist any offers for midfield duo N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, sources have told ESPN.

“However, Kante is not likely to be part of the overhaul despite reports linking the France international with a move to Real Madrid.

“The same is true of Jorginho. Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with the 28-year-old for a third time, having signed him for Napoli and Chelsea while in charge at those clubs.”

Will Chelsea hold onto both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante?

This is great news for the Blues fans but we have a feeling Frank Lampard cannot afford to hold onto both these players if he is serious about bringing in reinforcements for the next season.

Chelsea have been chasing players like Philippe Coutinho, Aubameyang and Timo Werner all of whom are going to cost a lot of money.

And given the current financial scenario in Europe, the Blues boss might be forced to gather most of the funds by selling off unwanted players from his current squad.

Right now, Jorginho is the defensive midfielder of choice for Lampard while Kante has been playing further up the field this season. And to be honest, players like Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount can very easily do the same job as the Frenchman.

Moreover, it’s Real Madrid who are interested in Kante and the Los Blancos are one of the few clubs who have not been hit severely hit by the financial crunch which means they can pay top dollar for the World Cup winner.

So clearly, both Jorginho and Kante might be key members of the Chelsea squad but we think, the manager will part ways with N’Golo Kante, not only because they can get the right price for him in the market but also cause the midfielder is about to hit 30.
