Chelsea transfer news: Blues eyeing a move for Krzysztof Piatek

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Genoa forward Krzysztof Piatek as a replacement to Alvaro Morata.

Morata arrived at Chelsea last year and started the new season with a bang. But with each passing month, his influence on the team has decreased so much so that Olivier Giroud is now the first choice striker.

Maurizio Sarri has tried to play Alvaro Morata upfront but the striker has failed to back the faith of the manager will goals and now reports suggest the Blues are looking at 23-year-old Krzysztof Piatek.




Piatek joined Genoa this summer from Polish side Cracovia and the forward has taken the Italian league by storm.




He scored four goals on his debut, including a hat-trick in the opening 19 minutes and currently, the Polish International has 12 goals from seven games.

Chelsea though are not the only club who are eyeing a move for Krzysztof Piatek with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also being linked with the youngster.








Sport claim La Liga side Barcelona are also interested in the Genoa striker though Chelsea seem to be the frontrunner in the deal.

Genoa paid a reported fee of €4 million for the services of Krzysztof Piatek but Calciomercato claim the striker’s value has skyrocketed during the past couple of months and he is now being valued at €40 million.




Barcelona are looking at Piatek as a long-term replacement to Luis Suarez but Chelsea want to fast-track this deal and try to sign the 23-year-old during the January transfer window.




Liverpool are keeping a close on the Genoa striker but Jurgen Klopp has no plans of making a move for Krzysztof Piatek before the end of the season – which might already be too late.
