Jose Mourinho Spurs Premier League

Manchester United were held to a 0-0 draw by Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday and the Red Devils have failed to pick up a win at home since the opening day of the Premier League season.

United looked lacklustre once again as Jose Mourinho’s side posed no real threat to the Spanish outfit.

And the fans were disgusted to such an extent that they chose to boo the manager after the final whistle.

But the draw was not the only talking point of the match as recent reports claim, Manchester United could face punishment from UEFA for arriving late for the match.

The kick-off was delayed by five minutes as the home team failed to reach the stadium on time and now Jose Mourinho has blamed the police for failing to provide an escort due to which traffic slowed down the team bus.

“We left the hotel at six o’clock, hoping that 30 minutes would be enough,” Mourinho said.

Now though, the Greater Manchester Police has come out with a statement claiming that an escort is only provided when there is a known threat.

Andy Sutcliffe, the GMP’s silver commander who was in charge of the game said:

“All police deployments are carried out following a comprehensive risk-assessment process and, specifically in respect of escort team buses, are only ever undertaken on occasions when there is intelligence or information to suggest a risk of threat or harm to the players.”

The report claims, Manchester United might be fined by UEFA for failing to reach the stadium on time and the only way the club can avoid the ban is if they can prove the delay was unavoidable.

Man United next play Newcastle United at home this weekend in the Premier League and there is a huge possibility that Jose Mourinho might be sacked before that match.
