Chelsea host Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend and this is without a doubt going to be a very important game for the London outfit.

Up until a few weeks back, Chelsea alongside Liverpool and Manchester City were the only unbeaten sides in the league but then the Blues suffered their first defeat to Spurs a couple of weeks back.

And on Wednesday, Sarri’s men slipped up once again as Wolves beat them 2-1 at Molineux.

After this defeat, the otherwise perfect Chelsea side have been showing some cracks and perhaps this will the right time for the Italian manager to make some tough selection calls.

And former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy believes the first person who should be rested during the Chelsea vs Man City encounter is Marcos Alonso.

Alonso had a poor game when the Blues lost their first game of the season against Spurs and against Wolves too, the Spaniard was below average.

And Cundy feels the left-back is tired of too much football and that the manager should think of using Emerson Palmieri in place of Marcos Alonso during the Chelsea vs Man City game this weekend.

“Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, if you’re looking for a change”, Cundy told Chelsea TV after the game.

“He looks leggy – he wasn’t the only one against Spurs – he was poor at the weekend against Everton, again tonight.

“I’m looking at him and thinking how much football has he had? He went to the World Cup [too].”

Emerson Palmieri is yet to play in the Premier League this season but the Italian left-back has featured in four Europa League games under Maurizio Sarri this campaign – scoring one goal.
