Chelsea news Willian
Willian playing for Chelsea

Chelsea suffered a 1-0 defeat in their EFL Cup clash vs Spurs and now Sarri will be eager to get back to winning ways when his players take on Newcastle United this weekend.

The Blues currently occupy the fourth spot on the Premier League table and they need to win this match in order to maintain that gap with Arsenal who sit fifth on the table.

But before going into the game, the Italian manager has some injury concerns.

Cesc Fabregas has played his final game for the Blues and will be moving to Monaco sometime this week which means the Spaniard is not part of Sarri’s plans during the Chelsea vs Newcastle game.

Ruben Loftus Cheek is currently out with a back injury and the player will probably not be fit for the Chelsea vs Newcastle game on Saturday.

Willian started the game vs Spurs earlier this week while Pedro came on as a second-half substitute but during the Chelsea vs Newcastle game Sarri might push the Brazilian to the bench and in turn hand Pedro a start.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been subject to a transfer interest from Bayern Munich but Chelsea so far have rejected four bids.

The youngster started vs Spurs as an act of faith from the boss and could once again find a spot in the first XI during the Chelsea vs Newcastle game – this time on the left flank.

Alvaro Morata is suffering from a hamstring injury and in case the forward cannot make himself available then Olivier Giroud could start up front.

There is also a possibility that Maurizio Sarri could opt to play Eden Hazard down the middle – something he has chosen to do during the past few games.

Ross Barkley started the game against Spurs and had a really good outing. And we feel the former Everton man has done enough to retain his place in the starting lineup for Chelsea vs Newcastle game.
